Tomorrow, the first episode of Out of Office will be released, 6 minutes of video that represent my first foray into the world of internet video. This is the biggest project I've undertaken as a writer, and it's exciting to finally be at the point where it can be shared with the wider world. To be honest though, it's also a bit terrifying, and I've already started and re-started this post a bunch of times, trying to work out what to say. After a fairly sleepless night filled with half-thoughts about how to get an audience, and wild, vivid dreams laced with anxiety, the process of just trying to write about the show has proven quite cathartic.

However, the efforts have also all felt a bit premature. Without a conclusion, a retrospective on the process of making the show just seems quite pointless, so I've filed that away for later. Talking about the roots of the show also feels a little unnecessary right now. If it proves entertaining to people, then it will be worth writing down, but otherwise, it's probably best saved for the pub when I can bore individuals over a pint (not that there are that many people left that I haven't done that to!).

So instead, I am just going to talk about the most important thing, which is that I am really, really pleased to have worked on Out of Office with an incredible bunch of people. What started out as a couple of late night chats has turned into something that I am actually proud of, and I hope that we manage to find an audience so we can make the rest of the series.
