One of the small changes that came about from the latest iphone update is a repeating sound alert for when I receive a text message. Having a repeat reminder is something I can see as being useful in certain situations, when you're somewhere busy and noisy for example. However, I often just have my phone out on a table, and when an SMS arrives, I just read it off the screen as it conveniently lights up. When the phone chirrups 5 minutes later, I think "oooh another message", only to be terribly disappointed to find its the same bloody message all over again. Very tedious. But what's even more tedious is that you can't turn it off.

Why does anyone add a new feature, and assume that everyone will want it? How fscking stupid is that?!?! The iphone is a great phone. It's the easiest to use phone I've ever owned (actually, one of the really old nokias probably fulfilled that role, but I do a lot more with my phone these days), but it can be really bloody irritating. And this repeating SMS alert is really bugging me. I didn't even know anyone was looking for it as a feature. And why is it the same bloody noise?! That's just daft.
